Happy May Wauseon! Spring is in full bloom as I write this message to you. The downtown flowering trees are such a beautiful sight along with the new flags that were donated by the American Legion Post #265. Thank you Post #265; your generosity towards our city is never ending and greatly appreciated.
Opening Day for our summer ball program is quickly approaching. The ceremony will take place at Biddle Park on Tuesday, May 26th with the opening pitch at 5:30 p.m. The summer travel baseball teams will be having a chicken BBQ fundraiser beginning at 4:30 p.m. This even will offer a drive up for your convenience. Please attend and support youth.
The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on May 25th. The parade route will begin at City Hall and end at the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Take the time to come help honor and remember our war veterans who gave so much so that we can live a life of freedom.
Looking ahead to some future Wauseon events: The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Wauseon Strawberry Festival on June 20th behind the Chamber Building from 1:00-4:00 p.m. or until gone. This is also the opening day for our Downtown Farmer's Market. Our Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks will be Wauseon's summer fun and events.
If there are any non-profit organizations who are interested in uploading your logo and a small explanation of your organization for our new CGI video that will be placed on our City of Wauseon webpage, please email the information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
