WATER PLANT OPERATOR

 FOR THE CITY OF WAUSEON

The Wauseon Civil Service Commission will administer a structured interview / written examination for the position of a “Water Plant Operator, Class III” for the Water Treatment Plant Department for the City of Wauseon.   

Application forms are available in the Administrative Office at the Wauseon Municipal Building, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, Ohio.  Applications may be obtained during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Applications must be returned to the Wauseon Municipal Building no later than May 29, 2026, at 4:00pm.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – Completion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED equivalent) and four (4) years of experience in the operation of a water treatment plant or similar experience; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – Must possess a valid State of Ohio Class III Water Supply License and a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.    

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  Successful candidates are required to serve a (1) year probationary period.

Applicants wishing to obtain military credit must supply copies of DD214 certification at the time of application to receive an additional 10% to their passing score.

Starting salary is commensurate with experience and includes liberal fringe benefits. Class III salary range $25.00-$35.00.
