Mayor Jerry Dehnbostel has been Mayor of the City of Wauseon since January 1, 2004.  He is in his second four year term which began January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.  Before being Mayor, Jerry Dehnbostel was on City Council from November 15, 1999 to December 31, 2003.  From January 1 ,2002 to December 31, 2003 he was President of City Council.

Mayor Dehnbostel currently serves on the Wauseon Planning Commission, Tax Incentive Review Council and the Revolving Loan Fund.

Mayor Dehnbostel was one of the founding members of the Chili Cook-off which has now been an annual event in the fall each year.  He also served on the Wauseon Homecoming Committee and the 2003 Bicentennial Committee.  He has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for several years.

Mayor Dehnbostel also is an active member and past president of the Wauseon Rotary Club and has been part of the many projects the club has sponsored.
